Child Relief and You (CRY America):
Child Relief and You America is a nonprofit organization devoted to the upliftment of the underprivileged child. CRY America's main focus is the deprived Indian child. The problems facing children are enormous; but CRY believes that through collective action we can make a difference in the lives of these children and help them fulfill their true potential. The Richmond chapter of CRY was started in October of 1999. In addition to organizing various fund-raising activities to raise funds for underprivileged Indian children, volunteers of the chapter are also involved in a local project at the Crestview Elementary school in Henrico county. Assistance is provided in the form of funds for medical needs, mentorship programs as well as fulfilling educational needs. In 2004, they have 3 events planned. Spring Fling in May, the annual CRY Walk on Belle Isle on Sept.18, and a special Hariprasad Chaurasia concert on Oct.31. To learn more about CRY and to sign up for their events this year, please visit their
