Mr. Subramanyam Kannan

Mr. Subramanyam Kannan has a wide range of experience in performing poojas and religious ceremonies in both Saivaite and Vaishnavaite traditions. He is experienced in performing poojas and other ceremonies such as marriages in both South Indian and North Indian traditions.

He has been with the Hindu Center of Virginia since 2001 and is responsible for all religious activities, poojas in the temple and in the community in and around Richmond. He is fluent in many languages including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Sanskrit and English.

His education includes "Vedanta Siromani", Sanskrit College, Mylapore (1990) and "Sama Veda Praveen", Raja Veda Kavya Pathasala, Kumbakonam (1984).

Before coming to Richmond, he held several positions including Bharatiya Temple, East Lansing, Michigan, Hindu American Temple, Morganville, New Jersy, Hindu Temple Society of N. America, Flushing, NY, Anugraha Vinayaka Temple, New Delhi and Aiswarya Mahaganapathi Temple, New Delhi.
